Police have identified 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz as the woman accused of opening fire at the home of Grammy Award-winning singer Rihanna on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say Ortiz allegedly fired an AR-15-style rifle toward the singer’s residence and has since been charged with attempted murder. Her bail has been set at $10.225 million.
According to reports, several shots were fired at Rihanna’s mansion in Beverly Hills, with at least four rounds striking the front gate and leaving visible damage. Sources told The California Post that the singer was at home when the incident occurred.
The billionaire artist lives in the $14 million property with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children. Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that no one was injured during the shooting.
This is not the first security scare involving the global pop star.
In 2018, a 27-year-old man managed to break into Rihanna’s home in the Hollywood Hills after climbing over a fence, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors identified the intruder as Eduardo Leon, who allegedly entered the property while the singer was away and remained inside the house for about 12 hours before one of Rihanna’s assistants discovered him.
Leon later pleaded no contest to stalking and was issued a 10-year restraining order, prohibiting him from going anywhere near the singer. Authorities say investigations into the latest shooting incident are ongoing.
